The traditional mortar-based ridge system is a traditional method of securing the ridge tiles to the roof. In this system, mortar is used to secure the ridge tiles to the roof structure and to provide a weathertight seal. The traditional mortar-based ridge system is known for its durability and stability, but it can be time-consuming to install and may require regular maintenance

Chimney repairs, repointing
The chimney mortar between the bricks of your chimney can become worn or damaged, leading to leaks, cracks and damage. This can be resolved by repointing your chimney (removing the old mortar and replacing it with new), to ensure that the structure is secure and water-resistant.

A cracked or missing crown can allow rainwater to get inside the chimney, this can lead to water damage and even structural failure. We can also install new pots and cowls if these are damaged or missing.

Verge, dry verge caps
Dry capped verges are a newer method of securing roof tiles to the verge. A mechanical fixing is used instead of mortar to secure the roof tiles to the verge. The system is faster to install, eliminates the need for ongoing maintenance.

Verge, mortared wet verge
A verge is generally at the outer end of a roof. Generally, these areas are sealed with a sand/cement mortar mix, a ‘wet verge’ to prevent water ingress and unwanted guest such as birds or bees/wasps nesting in your roof.

Lead flashings
Lead flashings are installed to decrease water penetration at objects such as chimneys, vent pipes, walls, windows and door openings to make buildings more durable and to reduce indoor mold problems. You can have a continuous lead flashing or step flashings (see chimney flashing).

Roof cleans, moss removal
Moss retains water and if left on a roof for long periods, it can cause damage including cracks to tiles. It can be removed and deterred. please note pressure wash removal is not recommended)

Bonnet hip tiles
Bonnet hip tiles are fitted on the angles of your roof to give it a finished look. Unlike other roof tiles, they are curved rather than angular.

Breathable membrane (felt)
Breather membranes' are now commonly installed to the outer side of the insulation. It allows water vapour to escape from inside a building without the need for ventilation. It also repels any water, most commonly rain, that tries to enter the building
